AI and sales follow up for small teams

New AI capabilities give sales teams a practical opening: a clearer view of what happens between an inquiry, a quote and a sale. Start with a question that is difficult to answer today, then identify the records needed to check the answer. This edition brings together three recent developments and explains how small service businesses in Mexico and the United States can turn them into a focused improvement in daily work.

Reports you can check

On October 8, Anthropic introduced Claude Dashboards in beta on paid plans. It queries connected sources and shows the query and refresh timestamp behind each chart. The documentation confirms Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise access; Enterprise administrators must enable it.

For a sales team, the opportunity is to investigate specific questions: which quotes have been waiting longest for a response, and which channels produce opportunities that move forward? Easier reporting can support the weekly sales meeting when everyone uses the same stage definitions.

Action: select ten opportunities and manually compare dates, amounts and statuses with the report. Keep won business separate from money received. Then assign someone to review exceptions weekly. If the figures do not match, correct the definition before automating report distribution.

Limitation: this remains a beta and counts toward plan usage limits. Include review time when evaluating it. Connecting data does not guarantee that a calculation reflects your sales process.

Connected channels with supervised decisions

Meta announced Muse for Small Business on September 29, with connections to Facebook and Instagram accounts and business tools. Meta says publishing, sending and spending require approval. The announcement places Muse in the United States and Canada; it does not confirm availability in Mexico.

Our interpretation: businesses that acquire customers through social channels could spend less time gathering information and preparing actions. Commercial judgment is still needed to decide whom to contact and what to propose.

Action: prepare a short reference covering current services, approved prices, common questions and ownership of incoming requests. If your account has access, begin with a weekly analysis and drafts. Check recommendations against real conversations before approving them.

Limitation: an announced connection does not establish that a feature is enabled in your account. In Mexico, use the same business reference with your existing workflow and avoid building an operation around access that has not been confirmed.

A signal to review stalled quotes

On October 6, INEGI reported that Mexican consumer confidence fell 1.2 points in September compared with the previous month. That is a change in index points, not a percentage decline in sales.

For businesses selling services to households, this is context for watching purchasing decisions. It cannot tell you that your customers will cut their budgets, and it does not describe US demand. B2B teams should give their own opportunities more weight.

Action: review quotes opened during the past 30 days and record why they stalled: unclear scope, timing, budget, no response or a pending decision. Where the reason is unknown, leave it unknown. Test a clearer explanation of the proposal and compare progress before introducing discounts.

One practical review to start

The next step is to review ten opportunities and map their journey from inquiry to payment. Choose one point where information, ownership or follow-up is missing. Merluca helps design that process, configure suitable tools and define reporting the team can use. Let’s discuss the part of your sales operation that needs a clearer next step.
